Chesapeake Homes has chosen Crossroads Publishing to work with them on a weekly basis to grow, maintain, and update the pages in their site. Up-to-date information provides an ever-growing resource not only for the real estate agents who look for quality new homes for their buyers, but for the homeowners who live in the neighborhoods and the contractors who build the homes.
The primary objectives of the website are to present the full range of model homes that can be found in each new homes community, to convey the lifestyle a homeowner can find within, and to connect the buyer with an agent in the most efficient manner.
This site was adapted from a previously developed website and has progressed since the year 2000 to present the information in a more organized manner. It since has become and remains well ranked in the major search engines.
Developing a strong informational presentation has helped Chesapeake Homes to attain its position online. Organization of the site, with an interactive navigation system, gives direct access to the various levels of information.
All of the pages have been unified with a consistency of design that allows the user to easily identify where they are within the site. John Barnes, President of Chesapeake Homes, has set the look and feel for this site to reflect his preferences and utilizes the site as a conduit between home shopper and, ultimately, the homeowners' warranty department.
Floor plans for numerous models are presented within each community section, and options available for many models are displayed online. Overview maps of the developments and driving directions are available, as well as low- and high-bandwidth views of decorated models. Flash presentations provide overviews of the lifestyle and home products one may find within.
Feedback forms encourage homeowners to contact the appropriate warranty departments or schedule new home touch-ups after the sale is complete. Behind the scenes via password-protected directories, the many contractors employed by the builder keep abreast of the newest work orders and job status on each unit they build.
