Since 1997 Crossroads Publishing has been creating, rewriting, and optimizing websites, and since early 1998, hosting and maintaining websites. When we started with web design, HTML 3.0 was the language used for coding. JavaScript was not well supported, and security was certainly not the concern it is today.

Many things have changed over the years. Currently HTML 4.01 and XHTML are the standards. New browsers have been introduced. Cascading Style Sheets now handle page formatting. New programming languages have appeared. JavaScript has become more popular and the Flash Player browser plug-in is common.

Where would one start today? With basic HTML as well as Cascading Style Sheets.

This is not as easy as it sounds. While HTML is not rocket science, nor is it cut and dried. Your website should display on many different browser versions and operating systems with consistency. A pretty page and a valid page are not enough. If you want to maximize your marketing strategy, you can't drop the ball on designing and coding your website.

Our Training

Our trained staff utilizes top design and coding software, including: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia HomeSite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CorelDraw. We can handle all types of web design and development tasks on our systems. We have people specially trained in fine art, graphic design, user interface design, information architecture, HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL database design and management.
